On Friday the 9th of March, 2018, Vineyard

Lutheran School held their annual swimming

carnival at the Valleys Lifestyle Centre.  The day turned out to be a

glorious day &  the children

enjoyed being part of the competition and fun,

cheered on by teachers and families alike.

Apart from the usual swimming events, children

from Foundation through to year 7 competed in a

number of novelty events, including the cork

scramble, whole pool scramble and tyre tube stack.

It is a great feature of the school that the older students, and even past students, are only too willing to jump in and assist the younger students have fun in their events.

For many years the Wakefield and Hutt teams have had the swimming shield firmly in its clutches, however, at the end of the day it was the Light team that prized the swimming shield from their fingers.   The Wakefield team put in another great performance to finish in second place while the Broughton and Hutt teams deserve honourable mentions for their fine efforts on the day.

The school would especially like to thank the Clare Swimming Club, the Valleys Lifestyle Centre and all of the parents and friends who volunteered their time

and resources to make this a wonderful event.
