Students’ needs are evaluated in each class by observation and testing. Children may need additional experiences and individual attention in order to achieve to the best of their abilities, which Vineyard may provide through volunteer support, specialist teachers, or teacher aides.
Students with specific learning needs are supported in their learning through specific Learning Support programmes, as well as inclusive classroom support by Learning Support teachers.
Early Intervention Programs such as Mini-Lit are providing much needed assistance to our students with learning needs.
Student Assessment is outcome-based and ongoing. Progress folders containing student work are sent home at the end of Terms 1 and 3. A summary statement is provided mid-year and at the end of the year. NAPLAN testing occurs at Year 3, 5 & 7. School Entry Assessment testing occurs during the Reception year
