Vineyard has a full sized stadium where most of
our Sport lessons are conducted.
We have equipment for all types of sports and activities.
We actively teach students sports that they would not normally be exposed to,as well as traditional sports played
throughout the Clare and Gilbert Valley.
The students participate in a specialist physical education program, which includes one lesson of PE each week and involves skill development in the following sporting activities...
Athletics, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Softball,
Indoor Hockey,Indoor Soccer, European Handball, Gymnastics, Dance,Table-Tennis,
Volleyball, Netball, Badminton, Archery
Within the PE curriculum students are given the opportunity to develop their whole body movement patterns, coordination skills, cooperation and team work skills, and their game play skills.
We have a PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) for our ELC and Foundation students. PMP is a great way to improve your children’s gross motor skills, which are developed by exercising the whole body and large muscle groups.
The advantage of developing gross motor skills is that it leads to the development of fine motor skills- the coordination of small muscle movements which usually occur in conjunction with the eyes, for example, movement of the fingers and toes.
If both skills sets are improved children are better able to read and write, improving their ability to achieve academically.
