Vineyard Lutheran School, Clare, commenced operation in 2001 in the hall at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Sabine Street Clare. Student enrolment was 27, and there were five staff members which included Carl Petering the founding principal. During this time the school council and school community worked hard to find suitable land and the current permanent site at 59 Main North Road Clare was officially purchased.

Work began on the site immediately and the school was ready for its

opening in January 2002. 2002 saw enrolments grow to 38.

Late in 2004 saw the opening of "The Cottage" which houses Home

Economics, Art, Library, Music and General classroom areas.

This coincided with the growth in student numbers to 48.

As the school grew to a student population of 69, 2005 saw the

laying of a fully fenced tennis, basketball and netball court.

2007 saw major landscaping developments throughout the school with the upgrading of paving, pathways and gardens. These upgrades were made possible through grants secured through the Federal Governments, Investing in our Schools Program. From the same pool of monies we were able to provide the Upper Primary

Students with a second playground structure for their use.

72 students enjoyed these facilities throughout this year.

Student numbers maintained in 2008 at 72 and saw the instillation of Electronic Whiteboards into each of our four classrooms and an upgrade to our car park.

The school celebrated 10 years of operation in 2010 and a student population of 94. The school community celebrated their anniversary with this year with a variety of events including our bi-annual Twilight in the Vines Fete, our Rump and Red night. We also published our first school cook book and released a Riesling wine for the celebrations.

2011 saw the school continue to grow with the addition of a fifth

class and we opened the Vineyard Stadium in Term Two.

2014 continued to be an exciting year for Vineyard, as we opened our new commercial Kitchen, providing cooking opportunities for our students, as well as hiring possibilities for our local community.

In 2015 our new administration centre located on the top car park, was completed , which  enabled Vineyard to have a dedicated Art Room, Chaplaincy and Learning Support rooms. A second oval is currently under construction for our students.

Vineyard Lutheran School continues to grow and strengthen in its educational goals and its commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
